Description

Zetron Inc. of Redmond, WA announces the availability of Remote Station IP Connectivity in it’s Series 3200 E9-1-1 Telephone System. The benefits include cost savings by sharing bandwidth on an existing data network and by sharing communications equipment among sites. A public safety agency can now use the same Zetron Series 3200 Controller to handle 9-1-1 calls at both a primary call center and at multiple secondary call centers. (Or at other primary centers that are only manned during normal business hours.) To support homeland security readiness, the Series 3200 VoIP capability allows the creation of “satellite” 9-1-1 answering sites which provide disaster recovery in the event that a flood, fire, or terrorist act requires the evacuation of the primary communications center. With Zetron’s Series 3200, a single controller is all that is required to feed up to seven remote PSAPs (Public Safety Answering Points), each with the capacity to support numerous call taking positions. A Series 3200 VoIP Remote Station Kit consists of equipment residing at the central end (a Remote Station-controller interface unit) and similar equipment at the remote positions (a Remote Station-Console interface unit).
